Smartlands Invited to Celebrate Vilnius Blockchain Centre’ First Anniversary

On Jan 23, we’re headed for the hotbed of fintech activity in Europe – the great city of Vilnius where our friends and partners at Vilnius Blockchain Centre will be celebrating their First anniversary.

To say that BCV is making a vital contribution in creating a global community of blockchain enthusiasts from Asia, Australia, both Americas, and Europe is to say nothing. Over 4000 entrepreneurs, start-ups, and technologists throughout the world can attest the Center’s unique ability to nurture talent and springboard businesses to stardom.

European governments invariably recognize the influence the Centre exerts in Europe. The European Commission has commended the BCV’s efforts inside the European Union and around the world on multiple occasions. The Center’s tight relationship with the EU and EC helps bring onboard policymakers and regulators (Blockchain Centre Vilnius is a founding member of the “International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications” in Brussels initiated by the European Commission), which is extremely important given the nascent state of the blockchain-based fintech.

The Center’s Anniversary celebration caps an exceptional year of more than 70 events featuring speakers from more than 40 countries including high-level policymakers. Judge for yourself: the list of distinguished guests expected to appear at the celebration with words of gratitude and encouragement for BCV includes The Minister of Finance of Lithuania, Vilius Sapoka; Antanas Guoga, Founder of Blockchain Centre Vilnius, member of the European Parliament; Eduardas Eigirdas, Editor-in-Chief, Founder of Valstybe magazine; Marius Jurgilas, Member of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania; Helen Koepman, Deputy Head of Unit for Startups & Innovation in the Digital Single Market at the European Commission; Paulius Kunčinas, Chairman of the Board of BCV; Remigijus Šimašius, Mayor of Vilnius; Taavi Roivas, Former Prime Minister of Estonia. And rest assured, the triumphal column doesn’t end here.

The Smartlands Platform CEO, Arnoldas Nauseda, is invited to the celebration as an honored guest and esteemed panelist to participate in the discussion themed “Mapping the Future: Blockchain Solutions for Businesses.” The panelists will explore blockchain developments in 2018 and glean insights in the blockchain-based fintech for 2019.

The keynote will be given by Greg Chew, Founder, and CEO of QPQ Limited. We’ve forged our friendship with Greg in Brussels during the Equity Token Workshop organized by David Siegel of the Pillar Project under the auspices of the Lithuanian Embassy in Belgium and Luxembourg.

All in all, we’re incredibly excited to have this chance to shake some familiar hands and make new acquaintances at this spectacular event. We’re confident that, although the event targets first of all the business community, the overall mood is going to be firmly fixed at the “celebratory exaltation” mark. And it’s a good thing!
